As the European regulatory tsunami in sustainable finance continues to gain pace, it is the year 2021 in which it seems to have approached the topic of greenwashing in full speed. The year 2022 has started with ESMA’s announcement making clear that tackling of greenwashing will be its priority #1 topic, meaning that the pace of related supervisory developments is likely to intensify.
Our expert speakers Dr. Zukas and Dr. Trafkowski, both experienced banking lawyers with strong academic backgrounds and particular expertise in regulatory ESG matters, will analyse these developments for you and share their cutting-edge regulatory insights.
We will start the lecture with looking at greenwashing definitions in the new European sustainable finance regulations, demonstrating that this previously unregulated field is now filled with new regulatory content. After presenting an in-depth analysis of the greenwashing definitions, our experts will discuss core elements of the regulatory greenwashing concept under EU law and address various aspects of its impact on financial services practice.
