What did the EU leave behind after Brexit?

This event is a collaboration with the Chair of Public Law, Environmental Law, and Energy Law, at the University of Zurich.

 

We are honored to welcome Professor Angus Johnston, Professor of Law and Fellow in Law at University College, University of Oxford, RWF Guestprofessor, at the University of Zurich, who will give a lecture on the topic: "What did the EU leave behind after Brexit?"

 

Brexit was presented to the British electorate as being about regaining domestic control over the laws that govern the UK. How far was this ever likely to be true in practice, how much has actually changed and where, and where is the reach and influence of EU Law in the UK still stronger than one might expect?
