We are pleased to welcome Viktor Yushchenko, third President of Ukraine, at the University of Zurich.

Speaker
Victor Yushchenko was President of Ukraine 2005-2010, coming to office after a people’s uprising called the “Orange Revolution”. Previously, he served as a Member of Parliament, Prime Minister, and Governor of Ukraine’s Central Bank, where he lowered hyperinflation from 11,000% to under 10% and introduced Ukraine’s national currency and electronic payments system. He now heads an institute that promotes freedom, justice, rule of law, market reform, European integration and national consciousness.

Content of the Lecture
President Viktor Yushchenko will discuss Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the threats the war poses to global stability and economic growth. He will reflect on what reasons led to the war and how Ukrainians are fighting to stay resilient and victorious. In particular, President Yushchenko will consider the role of European business in rebuilding and modernizing Ukraine's economy.
