What did the EU leave behind after Brexit?

Brexit was presented to the British electorate as being about regaining domestic control over the laws that govern the UK. How far was this ever likely to be true in practice, how much has actually changed and where, and where is the reach and influence of EU Law in the UK still stronger than one might expect?
